never buying croutons again!

wow -- after last night's fondue, i decided to just make the other half-loaf of bread into croutons. remember, i paid .89 for this white whole wheat bread? well half a loaf, that's .45, made 2 quart baggies of croutons, so that's less than .25 per bag, which is about the amount in a bag from the store. i sprayed them w/ olive oil and seasoned them with no-salt, fresh-ground pepper, and Tuscan Sunset (a salt-free italian blend from Penzey's). DH said they tasted like store ones to him.

a bag from the store costs $1 on sale, but the whole grain kind never goes on the $1 sale, so you have to pick btwn cheap and healthier. Plus the store kind has all kinds of who-knows-what in it, and i know exactly what's in mine.
