The staples are running low; spent most of today preparing sunday's order. It'll be expensive, because i'm ordering several things in largest quantities. (Think: 25 lb cashew pieces, 50 lb wheat berries, 30 lb dates.)
The actual food was also running low!! Made a trip to Sam's and Meijer while DH was home, to stock him up for 2 wks; snagged 3# each walnuts, almonds, and pecans, and stocked up on kale.
Made raw chili for lunch.
3rd batch of kale chips is in the dehydrator now; first batch already devoured! Batch 1 used 2 bunches curly kale and wasn't quite seasoned enough for us; batch 2 used 1 bunch (curly) and is too dense with dried glop. Next cheesy bunch will use 1-1/2 bunches. Batch 3 is the sweet-spicy recipe; i used 1 bunch of lacinato instead of 2, and think maybe it wasn't enough. Will follow the directions for that next time, except it sure did seem oily... maybe cut back on the oil? wait to see.
Made cheez-its today; this batch used sprouted buckwheat in place of the almonds, and added 1 tsp chipotle; spread really thinly. Texture is a little nicer.
Will be making lara bars in a couple-few weeks. Have 2 bags apples from sam's, since DH left his in the car. Tomorrow will spiralize and dehydrate some apples.
Checked oven temp today: The chili was just below 120 after an hour or more! Happy to know it gets so low. Consequently did most of the cheez-its in the oven. Thermometer is too fat to check the dehydrator though.
still to make: corn chips, more kale chips, cookies.
